An Alabama Wedding

The bride's dress, modern yet with touches of the Victorian era, alluded to days gone by with linen-type fabric and embossed flowers in a bone shade.

And what Victorian reception is complete without a fine tea service!

And of course, traditional punch for non-tea drinkers.

Flickering candles, old pictures, and vintage displays with gloves and jewelry welcomed us at this cozy reception.

To top off the celebration--a gorgeous three-tiered cake, each layer trimmed in vintage sugar lace. Just too pretty to cut, but they did!

After the wedding, we stayed with a college friend we hadn't seen for ten years. What a wonderful time catching up!

Good ole' Alabama!

Gorgeous wedding!
So glad you got to catch up with your friend. Thanks for sharing these photos. That punch looks good; I'm not a tea drinker. And I agree, that cake looked too pretty to cut.
