Do You Have a Favorite Tea Pot?

"I'm a little tea pot, short and stout. Here is my handle, here is my spout."

How many of us can relate? But, ahem . . . I'm not talking about physique.

Actually, I'm into tea pots today.

Tea pots rock! I've loved them since I was a kid goggling over the display in my mother's china cabinet.

Now that I have kids and grandkids of my own, I still enjoy my tea pots, and most of all playing tea party with my grandchildren.

I also love tea, mostly herbal teas, like peppermint, peach, and apple cinnamon. Now and then I enjoy a good quality Irish Breakfast tea with cream. Yum . . .

Autumn finds me pulling out a tea pot or two to display and use on cool, crisp days.

Here are a few of my favorite tea pots. Do I hear a familiar song in the background? :)

Here's a fun tea pot picked up at a yard sale. I knew my grandkids would like this one. 

A vintage set I located at an estate sale and purchased for my grandtots when they come to play.

In my Born for India trilogy, Maggie, Gavin, and the gang drink tea. After all, next to China, India grows the largest quantity of tea. According to TipTopTens.com in 2008, India produced 805,180 tons!

 

One of the things I enjoy when I visit my friends in India is drinking a cup of chai, which is equal parts black tea and rich cream, mixed with a heaping portion of sugar and a few cardamom pods. Like candy in a cup. A little bit goes a long way.

Made a New Friend Today

Made a new friend today! I met another real live OakTara author right here in Roanoke! For a writer cooped up in her cage all day, it felt good to break free and visit with a kindred spirit.

Judi Ehresman and I talked about everything from grandchildren and gardening to writing tips and house decor. Lovely tea time with a beautiful lady who I suspect I'll be visiting with again in the near future.

Judi has written several novels, three of which I toted home, excited to devour. . .

More later on that! Hubby just walked in the door ready for supper, so off I go.
